Introducing the Club

Re-formed in 1999, the club aims to bring Lake District climbers together so that, whatever their standard, there should always be someone available to climb with. This could be on a spring weekend, a mid-summer evening or in deepest mid-winter. It also aims to be a focal point for climbing enthusiasts living further afield who visit the Lakes and want good contacts. On top of this is the opportunity to meet socially and share experiences.
In the summer there are regular meets every Tuesday evening and selected weekends. In the winter there is a gathering every Tuesday at one of the local climbing walls and then afterwards at the Dog & Gun, Keswick.

Happy Climbing Tells No Tales - by Judith Brown.
A collection of well-told short stories, capturing the fun, the excitement, and occasionally the terror of climbing. Some of the tales are subversive and funny, and written with real verve. Essential reading for climbers everywhere.
Short listed for the 2007 Boardman Tasker Prize for Mountain Literature
